Adaptation Process of Refugee Children: Psycho-Educational Play Program and Effectiveness of Virtual Reality Applications
– Tübitak SOBAG 1001 Project Number: 119K046 –

Project Summary
Although refugee children and adolescents are temporarily in our country, there is a need to develop services to facilitate their adaptation process during this period, which can last for many years. For the studies to be carried out for this purpose, it is important to consider the multifaceted effects of the challenging and traumatic events brought about by the refugee experience on children, the factors that increase their resilience in this process, and the roles of their families or caregivers, the school environment, teachers and peers in this process. We are developing a school-based and multidimensional psycho-educational intervention program in our project, which basically aims to improve the adaptation skills of refugee children. With our project, which is supported within the scope of TÜBİTAK SOBAG 1001 (Project No: 119K046), we aim to develop the adaptation skills of children with refugee status who have entered our country in order to continue their education and overcome the transition process in a healthy way, and to develop an intervention program that facilitates them to understand and make sense of the situation they live in.
